Weekly Newsletter

July 7, 2026

July 7 - SEEC S372 A&B John Tayer, CEO of Boulder Chamber of Commerce, Sundance Festival is Coming! See below listing for link to map.

Club News

Welcome to a new format for our weekly newsletter! After many years, Joan is stepping down as the newsletter editor. We thank her for her patient, reliable, and constant role in getting us the information we need!!

With the new ClubRunner Nova, Dave, Gabby and Brian have been updating our website and social media. Using the same data, I am experimenting with using ClubRunner to generate the newsletter. It will automatically pull the scheduled events and birthdays from CR. The same information will be on the website and on the CR calendar. As you will see below, events that you participate in will show in a customized list for you.

Volunteers needed! It would be great to have a few members divide the task of producing this newsletter each week. It should be fairly simple, can be done remotely, and is very important. You don't need to write stories, just insert what is provided and then send, using the system. Please let Simon or Caroline know if you are willing to help out.

For now, I'd appreciate your feedback. Please recognize that I'm just learning how to manage the system! (If this is the second version you are seeing, the first one only went to some people and has disappeared from the system. I'll have to figure that out.)

Other news-

July 4 Pancake Breakfast in Superior will be fun and is a way to show the town our support, as they also support us in the BeerFest. It's a fun, smaller-town celebration of the 4th of July.

July 7 - John Tayer will talk about the coming Sundance Festival. As we heard last week from  John Lehndorff, restaurants are nervous about the number of people and challenges with getting enough staff, getting staff to and from their shifts, and getting delivery trucks with all the traffic. People are charging a lot for rentals. There are probably many other areas of concern. Yet it is also a great opportunity for Boulder! How can we help, as individuals or as a Club? What can we expect? It is sure to be an interesting meeting!
